SZconsult exists to support medical professionals who care for people affected by schizophrenia-spectrum disorders. We believe in demystifying the schizophrenias, promoting access of affected people to top-quality care, and helping affected individuals achieve their highest possible levels of recovery. SZconsult promotes these goals by offering medical professionals a system of education, collaborative learning, and consultation that aims to promote connection, community, and joy in the practice of psychiatric medicine.
SZconsult is a community of shared clinical experience and shared wisdom. We teach each other. We learn from each other. We solve clinical problems and change lives together.
SZconsult is based on the Project ECHO model for distance learning and consultation developed at the University of New Mexico. Project ECHO has been a great success with the clinicians who use it. Project ECHO combines the best elements of grand rounds, learning community, and telemedicine consultation. More about the ECHO education(+)consultation model.
SZconsult offers no-cost continuing medical education credit (AMA PRA Category 1) to physicians, physician assistants, or nurse practitioners who attend consultation sessions. SZconsult services are free.
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to participate in this wonderful learning community. It has broadened and deepened my practice and expanded my knowledge base. Being able to not only view the informative lectures, but to have access to the expert team at NEOMED, as well as discuss real cases with colleagues from around the country is absolutely invaluable. Our program’s participants have 100% benefited from this service!
